Kim Myung Min opened up about the struggles he faced in the industry and the success of his latest drama, "Law School."
In his interview with Ten Asia, the 48-year-old actor spoke about his thoughts on the recently concluded campus mystery drama.
The "Six Flying Dragons" star lauded the JTBC drama and believed that the team managed to "fully convey" the essence of the series and presented it in a different light.
In addition, he also explained that "Law School "projects social issues" that include domestic violence, social media manipulation, murder, and more.
As for his co-star, Kim Myung Min talked about his working relationship with Park Hyuk Kwon, who plays Prosecutor Jin Hyung Woo.
In the drama, his character, Professor Yang Jong Hoon and Prosecutor Jin share a love-hate relationship, given that the two have different outlooks on justice.
During his interview, the award-winning actor says that he is happy working alongside Park Hyuk Kwon and even described him as an "amazing" actor.
To recall, both actors have previously starred in the 2007 medical drama "White Tower."
"Park Hyuk Kwon has played the role of being beaten by me since the White Tower," he quipped, adding, "Park Hyuk Kwon's acting is so good and amazing. When I act with Park Hyuk Kwon, I feel like I'm going out to fight on the battlefield with a strong old colleague."
Kim Myung Min Willing to Star in "Law School" Season 2
Kdrama "Law School" received an overwhelming response from the viewers as the JTBC drama wrapped up with a powerful finale.
The drama's season finale ends with a solid rating after garnering a nationwide average of 6.1 percent, as cited by Nielsen Korea.
Amid the support of the viewers, the 48-year-old actor says that he is looking forward to appearing if "Law School" will return for a brand new season if the drama is under the same director, Kim Seok Yun.
"There's no place to talk in the current situation openly, but if there's a place we can meet, I will strongly talk about season 2."
It appears that Kim Myung Min and "Law School" PD has a good working relationship.
It came after the actor mentioned that their connection is more like "an older brother and a younger brother, and is like a family. "
Why Kim Myung Min Almost Quit Acting?
After 25 years in the industry, the 48-year-old actor cemented his name in the entertainment scene with several notable dramas, including "Immortal Admiral Yi Sun Shin" and "Beethoven Virus," where he won Best Actor at the 2009 Baeksang Arts Awards.
Despite his achievements, he revealed that he almost left showbiz due "slump" or decline in projects since his debut.
He mentioned that 2004 was the biggest challenge in his life that made him almost quit acting.
"The big slump was in 2004 when I decided to quit acting. After that, there were frequent slumps, and that seems to energize me to some extent."
