Who would forget Song Joong Ki's workout scene in the mega-hit K-drama "Descendants of the Sun," where it featured the actor's broad shoulders and jaw-dropping abs.
However, in his previous interview with KBS 2TV's "Entertainment Weekly," he expressed his regret by joking that he "does not have those same abs anymore."
This might be completely untrue given that he appeared in the movie "The Battleship Island" looking all beefed up.
Speaking of bulking up, the 35-year-old actor had to undergo intense training for the action film since his character portrays a Korean soldier.
Several outlets cited that the A-lister went on a quick two-week bulk program with his personal trainer, Danny Joe.
Aside from this, Song Joong Ki's diet had to change and adapt to his new workout.
He was advised to go on intermittent fasting, which only requires having one meal a day, but he only lasted a month trying the diet.
Song Joong Ki's Workout Does Not Include Over the Top Exercise
The Hallyu star once revealed why he veers away from an intense workout and opts for pilates.
He previously shared that he starts his day by doing the said method of exercise to speed up his recovery since pilates concentrates on muscular strength, endurance movements, and low-impact flexibility.
Fortunately, he fell in love with the exercise and mentioned that he feels energized and refreshed after every session.
"I actually started it for recovery purposes because I hurt my knee in the past. But now, my heart feels refreshed when I do pilates every morning," he revealed to the online magazine, "Hi_High."
