KBS historical drama "Yeonmo," which stars Park Eun Bin and SF9's Rowoon, stopped filming a fire broke out on the set of the new Korean drama.

Fire Breaks Out in the Filming Set of 'Yeonmo'

JTBC reported on August 6 that some drama officials stated there was a fire accident while filming the upcoming KBS 2TV drama "Yeonmo," last August 5.

In addition, the fire broke out at the Korean Folk Village in Yongin, located at Gyeonggi-do. Due to the incident, the filming was postponed for the second day.

A crew member was also injured after helping to put the fire out. The staff member is already receiving treatment. There is no confirmation yet when the filming will resume.

Meanwhile, the fire department in charge at the location is currently investigating the cause of the fire.

This is not the first time the production for the forthcoming drama has been put on hold.

On July 26, a "Yeonmo" production staff member tested positive for COVID-19, prompting for adjustments in the production. The filming schedule was postponed, since all the actors and crew needed to be tested.

Fortunately, the crew and the lead cast Park Eun Bin and SF9's Rowoon tested negative of the virus.

However, days after the filming resumed, it was again suspended due to the fire.

"Yeonmo" stars Park Eun Bin, who will play the character of Lee Hwi, while idol-actor Rowoon takes the role of Jung Ji Woon.

"Beyond Evil" star Nam Yoon Soo is also part of the cast, and is expected to immerse himself in the character of Lee Hyun.

"Yeonmo" will be Rowoon's first historical drama, and fans are already anticipating his return on the small screen.

On the other hand, the upcoming series marks actress Park Eun Bin's first project following her 2020 hit drama "Do You Like Brahms?"

Netflix's 'Kingdom: Ashin of North' Production Experienced the Same Incident

In January of this year, a fire also broke out in one of the filming sites of the megahit thriller-fantasy series "Kingdom: Ashin of the North." The incident happened at Gaeun Open Set, located in the province of North Gyeongsang.

The cause of the fire was when a staff member attempted to melt down the snow using the torch lamp. Fortunately all the actors and crew were safe.
