KBS2's new coming-of-age rom-com drama series "Police University" starring Cha Tae Hyun, Jinyoung, and Krystal sent viewers on a rollercoaster ride with its third episode aired on August 16.
The third episode was filled with secrets, romantic attractions, and victory, which drove the viewership ratings to a new high.
Yoo Dong Man Grows a Heart for Kang Seon Ho
Before the police officer aspirants enter the university, they must first survive the week-long hell of training.
The first and second unit, which are led by Park Min Gyu (Chu Young Woo) and Oh Kang Hee (Krystal), are undoubtedly strong and ready for survival training, both physically and mentally.
Kang Seon Ho (Jinyoung) doesn't deny the fact that the other units are more advanced than them. He admits that he and his unit are a little disadvantaged and weaker than the rest. With this, he seeks help from the cold and ruthless detective, who is now a professor in the university, Yoo Dong Man.
Yoo Dong Man, who has held a huge grudge on Kang Seon Ho, unconsciously becomes soft and more open towards the student. Although he appears and sounds cold, he rather cares for him as much as he hates to deny it.
Unknowingly, Yoo Dong Man shows his care and support for Kang Seon Ho and his unit's victory in the survival training, masked in harsh words and glaring eyes.

The duo's hilarious relationship with each other never fails to make the fans and viewers cry from laughing.
Kang Seon Ho vs. Park Min Gyu
It looks like Kang Seon Ho (Jinyoung) and Park Min Gyu (Chu Young Woo) are not just in a friendly rivalry about being the top student in the university, it also seems that they are both interested in the same woman.
Park Min Gyu leads the first unit while Kang Seon Ho leads the third. On the other hand, Oh Kang Hee leads the second unit.
With this, the three of them, as well as their unit members, do their best to achieve victory and pass the last training.

But Oh Kang Hee and her unit passed the first phase of the test, which exempts them from doing the dreaded hell training.
This leaves Kang Seon Ho and Park Min Gyu battling against each other. The first and third unit prepare for a simulation battle in the woods, where each unit has to take down every member of the opposing unit.
At the end of the survival training, Kang Seon Ho became the last man standing, which means that the third unit won against Park Min Gyu's team.
With the third unit's victory, professor Yoo Dong Man discloses that the main essence of the challenge was to test the units' camaraderie, which all of them showed perfectly in training. Because of this, all of the students who had completed the training are now officially admitted to Korean National Police University.
Romance Brews Inside 'Police University'
It was crystal clear that Kang Seon Ho (Jinyoung) has the hots for the Judo girl who has a great personality. In episode one, Kang Seon Ho's brother described love as "a thing that will make your heart itch," similar to how it beats rapidly whenever someone sees the person they love.
In episode three, Kang Seon Ho finally reveals who his crush was to Oh Kang Hee (Krystal).
After successfully overcoming the final struggle of the training, Kang Seon Ho and Oh Kang Hee congratulate each other.
With his sweetest smile, Kang Seon Ho confesses to Oh Kang Hee without hesitation. He admits that his sole inspiration for becoming an honorable police officer was her, the one who swore that she will do everything she wants to do without any regrets.

Oh Kang Hee was left speechless, overwhelmed by the sudden yet sweet and thoughtful confession. Fans and viewers are now curious whether Oh Kang Hee likes Kang Seon Ho back or she's just being friendly to the latter.
On the other hand, in the professors' department, quirky and hilarious romance brews between detective and professor Yoo Dong Man and Judo professor Choi Hee Soo.
It was clear that Choi Hee Soo was charmed and interested in Yoo Dong Man, and their first physical interaction ignited the budding romantic affair between the two.
Fans and viewers couldn't wait to see more of the two professors.

As Yoo Dong Man wishes to go back to the precinct and continue his job as a cop and detective, the chief refuses to take him back. He is still stuck with the university and job as a professor.
With his desire to return, he asks Cheol Jin, his right hand man to spy on the on-going operations to catch the illegal online gamblers.
But one fateful night, when Cheol Jin was about to disclose confidential information to the detective, Cheol Jin was brutally attacked.

Yoo Dong Man was distraught with what happened to Cheol Jin. Anger heightens and takes over him as he receives the information from his subordinate, the culprit is actually in the Police University.
Detective and professor Yoo Dong Man, worried for his loyal friend and desperate to catch the criminal gamblers, goes to Kang Seon Ho and asks sincerely for his help.
As the saying goes, "desperate times call for desperate measures," Yoo Dong Man reveals himself as "Bird," Kang Seon Ho's online friend in the guise of "Yoon."
Viewers look forward to Yoo Dong Man and Kang Seon Ho's relationship, curious if there will be changes now that they have revealed their other selves to each other, as well as their partnership to claim justice.
'Police University' Sees a Slight Rise in Viewership Ratings
"Police University" remained on top of the lead in viewership ratings among Monday-Tuesday dramas.
The third episode of "Police University" which was broadcast on August 16 reached a new record of 6.8 percent viewership ratings.
"Police University" gets better and better every episode, and the numbers of the viewership rating speaks for itself.
The 6.8 percent is the drama's best record, seeing a slight rise of 0.3 percent since the previous episode.
