From the romantic-comedy "Goong" or "Princess Hours" to the mega-hit zombie series "Kingdom," there's no denying that Ju Ji Hoon is one of the beloved crown princes in the history of k-dramas.
Apart from his top rating historical series, the 39-year-old actor managed to portray a wide array of characters over his almost 15 years in the entertainment industry.
With this, he is among the list of sought-after stars who are widely known due to their impeccable acting skills.
Little did the fans know that the "Hyena" star had to endure intense exercise and go on a strict diet for one tv series.
Ju Ji Hoon Workout Routine Includes Spending Hours Training for his Role in 'The Devil'
According to multiple outlets, the "Kingdom" star went through rigorous training to prepare for his 2007 K-drama "The Devil" with Uhm Tae Woong and Hallyu star Shin Min Ah.
At the time, the then-rookie actor made sure to give justice to his character and commit to his role as Oh Seung Ha, a feisty criminal lawyer, who is intertwined with Homicide Detective Kang Oh Soo, played by the "Wanted" star.
Outlets cited that Ju Ji Hoon's workout involves spending three hours daily at the gym and would only eat chicken as part of his diet.
This prompted the actor to lose 5kgs just for the K-drama.
With his solid and toned physique, the Korean actor landed on several high-end deals, including Calvin Klein, Tag Heuer, Reebok, Levi's, Polo, and Chanel.

Back in 2015, Ju Ji Hoon was asked by the HelloKpop team to talk about his personal life, including hobbies and activities outside showbiz.
He then mentioned playing computer games, basketball, swimming, and jogging in his spare time. Maybe this is his secret to having a ripped body.
Ju Ji Hoon Received a Wave of Criticisms for his Role in 'Princess Hours'
The popular K-drama with Yoon Eun Hye is his breakthrough performance that cemented his name in the Hallyu community.
Unfortunately, this is also where he received a ton of criticism that made him delete his social media.
According to SBS Star, Ju Ji Hoon reportedly mentioned that it was due to the skin color that earned him several hate comments online.
"The comments were like, 'Leave Princess Hours. We don't want to see you on it anymore,' 'How are you a prince? You don't have the right skin color for it. You are too dark,' 'Are you from the countryside or something?' and things like that," he recalled.
During the interview, he admitted that "those words were not too easy to hear" since it was his debut drama.
However, this experience did not hinder him from quitting showbiz and became a well-known actor of his generation.
