Viewers got curious about how the drama was filmed. To finally reveal the truth behind every scene, Squid Game cast and directors shared their thoughts and honest reactions in between.

Most of the scenes were done with green screens, which is challenging to the actors since it requires imagination and effort to portray the exact emotions they needed to show.

Spoiler Alert!

One instance is the tug of war game where the actors fell off a platform to imitate the authentic feeling the viewers saw on the screen. The actors were wearing harnesses during that time for safety, but even though they have protective gear, they would actually fall off the platform to make everything realistic.

Meanwhile, the Squid Game cast confessed that the scariest scene to film was the glass stepping stones game.

Before the game started, the character had to choose a number that showed the order in which they'd play. The players would hop on glass tiles until they reached the end. Some tiles would hold the players' weight, while others would not.

Glass Stepping Stones Game was the Scariest Scene, According to Squid Game Star Jung Ho Yeon

Scene-stealer actress Jung Ho Yeon, who portrayed Kang Sae Byeok, agreed that the glass stepping stones game was the most terrifying scene they ever filmed. She also mentioned that the directors put lots of effort into making the set as realistic as possible.

In addition to what Jung Ho Yeon said, aside from the green screen and safety equipment, the actors were elevated onto a platform and made to avoid gaps in the tempered glass.

Director Hwang Dong Hyuk explained that it was one of the things they decided to do in order to ensure the authentic reactions of the cast while filming the scene. He added that the glass made the cast nervous. Their unnoticed rigidity and fear of the body are genuine reactions that were present in the drama.
