JTBC's newest drama "IDOL," which is lead by EXID Hani, released its first teaser video on October 12, sharing a glimpse of the reality and what happens behind the curtains of becoming an idol group.

Broadcast giant JTBC's new Monday and Tuesday drama "IDOL," also known as "IDOL: The Coup," released its first-ever teaser on October 12.

In the drama, Je Na (EXID Hani), Hyun Ji (Laboum Solbin), Stella (Han So Eun), and L (Exy) become a part of the six-year-old girl group Cotton Candy who are enduring the rough and rocky part of their idol life.

Cotton Candy is a group dubbed a failure after achieving nothing even after six years of debut. The group now waits for just one miracle that will help them gain popularity before properly disbanding.

At the beginning of the video, the phrase "as long as you're alive, dream" appears, expressing the splendor of the dreamers whose dreams are strained with darkness and scars, yet never giving up.

In addition to that, the text "it's a dream that even if you lose and fall", highlights the desperate reality of Cotton Candy who has not been properly acknowledged in six years of debut.

The members of Cotton Candy are seen running in circles as if running to reach for their dreams they have been longing for so long.

Moreover, it represents how Cotton Candy can't give up their dreams yet, making the hearts of its potential viewers flutter.

Je Na, Hyun Ji, Stella, and L also showed their hardworking personalities as they practiced their dancing and singing, sweating off a lot, just to prove themselves worthy of praise and acknolwedgement.

The mood of the video then changes as the phrase "to daily properly, dream of another dream without regrets," signaling how the "failure" Cotton Candy will rise again in their new ways and dreams.

The "IDOL" production team said, "Please look forward to seeing EXID Hani, Cosmic Girls Exy, and Laboum Solbin in the upcoming drama, and give them a lot of love and support."

'IDOL' Pre-Production and Further Details

"IDOL" is directed by director No Jung Chan and written by screenwriter Jung Yun Jung and produced by JTBC Studio.

Apart from the group, "Oh My Ghost" actor Kwak Si Yang and rookie actor Kim Min Gyu will also participate in the drama.

On the other hand, "IDOL" is slated to air in November of the year 2021.
