The model turned actress hit skyrocketing fame after starring in the blockbuster Netflix series as the North Korean defector, Kang Sae Byeok, a.k.a player number 067.
In the drama, she portrayed a strong character whose only dream is to be with her family again.

The 27-year-old South Korean beauty shared a funny story as she transformed herself into a giant squid.
She wore a massive squid headdress and donned an emotionless expression.
Jung Ho Yeon's Instagram immediately gained three million likes and tons of comments lauding her hilarious antics.
As of this writing, her 19.9 million, which means that she is about to hit 20 million followers.
To recall, before the "Squid Game" premiere, the runway model had 400,000 IG followers; however, with just days of the show's broadcast, it rapidly climbed to millions as well as the other "Squid Game" cast.

Now, the Vogue Korea covergirl is the most followed Korean actress on Instagram and among the most followed Korean celebrity next to singer-actress IU.
Apart from reaching 20 million on IG, Jung Ho Yeon has a long list of Hollywood stars who are following her on social media. This includes award-winning singer Dua Lipa, "Spider-Man" actress Zendaya, singer and fashion icon Pharell, Drew Barrymore, Elle Fanning and Football star Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima.

In her interview with Vulture, the South Korean beauty spoke about the challenges and struggles portraying her "Squid Game" character.
She mentioned that she had to study a North Korean accent and undergo martial arts training.
Moreover, the model-turned-actress also kept a diary of Kang Sae Byeok, noting "the days she had to go through, the day she arrived in South Korea, the day she lost family members to the fire," she said.
Interestingly, Jung Ho Yeon revealed that the character also helped her to become better and that the biggest lesson she learned was "people are stronger when they live for others and with others, rather than chasing after their individual interest," the runway model said.
Apart from her "Squid Game" appearance, the 27-year-old stunner is the new face of Adidas for the brand's Adicolor and Louis Vuitton as their global ambassador.
