Geum Sae Rok has decided to drop from the JTBC Drama "The Empire of Law."

After the "Youth of May" star confirmed her appearance on September 16, Sports Seoul reported that the 29-year-old beauty would be stepping down from her role as Hong Nan Hee.

According to the media outlet, after ​​much consideration, her team made the decision to drop out due to "personal reasons and schedule issues."

Despite the sudden move, her departure from "The Empire of Law" was agreed upon by both parties and carried out smoothly.

To recall, Geum Sae Rok's agency, UL Entertainment, previously confirmed that the actress would star in the upcoming JTBC series.

"It's true that she will be appearing," the management said amid reports citing the lineup of actors who will be starring in the Kdrama.

Apart from the rising actress, "The Empire of Law" cast also includes Kim Sun Ah as Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office chief Han Hye Ryul, together with Ahn Jae Wook, while "Money Flower" star Lee Mi Sook is reportedly still in talks to appear in the series.

Helmed by "Seoul Mechanic" director Yoo Hyun Ki, the forthcoming JTBC series follows the story of Korea's noble prosecutor who is hounded by vulgar scandals.

Following the update, the upcoming Kdrama is set to premiere in 2022.

Despite her decision to leave "The Empire of Law," fans will be seeing more of the rising star in her two upcoming films.

After appearing in the 2019 movie "Our Body," the actress is set to return to the big screen through the drama film "Cabriolet" as one of the lead characters together with Ryu Kyung Soo and Kang Young Seok.

Meanwhile, she will also appear in the thriller-horror movie "Open the Door" led by Shin Hae Sun and Kang Tae Oh.
