"Lovers of the Red Sky" episode 16 wrapped up the season with surprising yet heartwarming moments from Ahn Hyo Seop, Kim Yoo Jung, Gong Myung and more.

Moreover, the viewers showed their support by ending the season with a new milestone for the historical- fantasy Kdrama.

For the finale, "Lovers of the Red Sky" viewership rating garnered a whopping 10.4 percent nationwide rating, setting its new personal best.

In addition, the drama finale also achieved its perfect streak as the number 1 drama for its time slot across all channels.

'Lovers of the Red Sky' Episode 16 Highlights: Hong Cheon Gi Lost her Sight

The SBS drama opens up with Hong Cheon Gi (Kim Yoo Jung) worried about Ha Ram's return as she tries to finish the divine painting.

Scholar Ha needs to return to the palace before the sealing ritual, or he will be consumed by the demon king, Ma Wang, forever.

After struggling to find its way back, the blind astrologer returns just in time for the ceremony; however, an unexpected thing happened.

Royal Shaman Mi Soo failed to beat Ma Wang, who is manifesting in Ha Ram's body.

Unfortunately, the demon king succeeded and got the divine painter's sight.

Despite this, she's eager to finish the portrait to help Ha Ram be freed from Ma Wang.

Interestingly, Sam Shin, Tiger Goddess and Hwacha appeared to help seal the demon king.

Finally, Ha Ram is freed from Ma Wang, but it is hard for him to see Cheon Gi lose her sight.

The painter also recalled how they first met, but despite the unfortunate circumstance that happened to Cheon Go, he promised to stay by her side and take care of her forever.

Ha Ram and Hong Cheon Living Happily Ever After

Five years later, everything went back to normal; even Cheon Gi regained her sight thanks to the deity and goddesses.

"Lovers of the Red Sky" episode 16 also featured a happy ending scenario for Hong Cheon Gi and Ha Ram as they were able to start a family together, naming their only son, Ha Joong.

In one scene, the couple even recreated their childhood moment by the lake, only this time; they have their adorable plus one.

Ha Ram also surprised his wife by inviting her to the peach garden when Cheon Gi first kissed him.

As for Prince Yang Myeong, he became the Crown Prince and someone who showed that he was ready to take the throne.

At the same time, his older brother, Prince Joo Hyang, was locked up in a stone cell together with his men after his failed attempt for rebellion and attacking his brother for his desire to take the crown.
