In the latest posters, Bae Doona, who took on the role of astrobiologist Doctor Song Ji An, harbors a fierce expression wearing a full spacesuit.

The same goes for the "Goblin" star, who portrayed space team leader Han Yoon Jae.

On the other hand, Lee Joon dons an eager expression, hinting that he is ready for his task as the spacecraft's head engineer Captain Ryu Tae Seok.

Since the streaming giant announced "The Silent Sea" release date set on December 24, Netflix continues to gear up with teasers and trailers, giving the viewers a glimpse of the upcoming sci-fi series.

Directed by Choi Hang Yong, who was also the PD of the "The Sea of Tranquility," where the forthcoming series was based, it follows the journey of the elite space group and their mission to go to the surface of the moon.

Set in 2075, it highlights the space crew's secret mission to retrieve the samples at the Balhae Research Station, known as "the silent sea," where an accident occurred.

Unfortunately, the group is set to face challenges and struggles as they leave the earth in order to perform their mission--one of which is the fuel issue that prompted the spacecraft to crash land on the edge of a cliff,

As seen on the previous teasers, the crew traversed the eerie landscape in the moon to reach the abandoned basecamp.

"An abandoned lunar base. A mission with a 10% survival rate. One by one, crew members end up dead," the official synopsis of the drama reads.

Jung Woo Sung on Producing' The Silent Sea'

Ahead of the announcement, "The Silent Sea" producer and award-winning actor Jung Woo Sung shared what made him decide to turn the sci-fi movie into a series.

At a Netflix event held on February 25, the Hallyu actor explained that he was struck by the film's plot, which he saw seven years ago.

"I loved the idea, so I wanted to make a longer version, and I started to take on the challenge without fear. I've ended up producing it after coming together with this amazing cast," he said.
