Several outlets predict that "Squid Game" will earn a nod at the 74th Emmy Awards scheduled in 2022.

One article by Variety says that the psychological thriller series is eligible for the Primetime Emmy race given that it was released under Netflix, an American streaming company.

Moreover, the outlet also pointed out that "Squid Game" might be considered to enter the prestigious ceremony because it was produced internationally.

"But it has to choose and can't enter both, as both the Los Angeles-based TV Academy and the New York-based International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences have rules preventing Emmy double-dipping," Variety noted.

Apart from various outlets, fans also expressed their anticipation that the South Korean series might achieve the smash-hit success of "Parasite," who won the Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards.
