Did You Know? Oh Jung Se had Major Preparations for his Role as Moon Sang Tae in 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay'
According to reports, Oh Jung Se studied Moon Sang Tae's character and was extra careful talking about it during the interviews.
To recall, he played the older brother of Moon Gang Tae, who is obsessed with children's books and was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD.)
In a press conference with Netflix, he shared that calling the disorder a "suffering" is a wrong impression.
"Saying that you are suffering from something means you have an illness. However, autism is not an illness, but something you are born with," he said, explaining that the correct way to address it is by saying that a person is born with autism.
"Even though I studied intensely, I am more careful and I think there is more that I need to know. I'm carefully doing my best to prepare," he added.
Just like his character, Oh Jung Se is also diagnosed with a disorder called prosopagnosia or, in layman's terms, Face Blindness or the inability to recognize a person's face.
