During the interview with the publication, Han Hyo Joo dishes out her thoughts starring in "The Pirates" sequel and in the pandemic-themed Kdrama "Happiness."
She mentioned how she wanted to star in tvN thriller series, pointing out how her character fits her age, adding that the project "came at a good time."
As for "The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure," it is a character that is "completely different" from her personality.

In the movie sequel, she plays the brutal pirate captain and ship owner named Hae Rang, who has a 10-year-old son.
She headlined the movie alongside award-winning actor Kang Ha Neul, the Prince of Asia Lee Kwang Soo, Chase Soo Bin, Kwon Sang Woo and EXO's Sehun as lead stars.

In connection with a period action-adventure comedy, Han Hyo Joo gets honest as she talks about playing the character which was originally portrayed by Hallyu star, Son Ye Jin.
In a separate interview with News 1, the 35-year-old actress says she feels "honored" to do a follow-up movie playing Son Ye Jin's character but admitted that she "feels pressured by the first movie's success."
To overcome her doubts, the actress revealed that she "had to work hard on the character so that it wouldn't become a liability."
Han Hyo Joo trained for three months and had separate training for wire stunts as part of her preparation for the movie.
Moreover, she also shared that she did "different types of training that took up a lot of time."
