As the 32-year-old star graced Esquire Korea, the "Uncontrollably Fond" star expressed his interest to appear in historical K-dramas.

With the booming popularity of K-contents, there's no denying that South Korea is known for its excellence when it comes to visuals.
Interestingly, aside from post-apocalyptic and zombie series and movies, Hallyu's historical K-dramas illustrate supremacy, may it be rom-com or thriller.
To name a few, Bae Doona and Ju Ji Hoon's "Kingdom" garnered global attention, alongside other iconic historical K-content such as "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo," "Hwarang," "Sungkyunkwan Scandal," the award-winning "Mr. Queen" and more.
Interestingly, some South Korean stars prefer joining the cast period dramas for one interesting reason.
During Kim Woo Bin's interview with Esquire Korea, he was asked, "if you were to be in a historical drama, what kind of character would you want to play?"
To answer the question, he said he wanted to appear in a historical series.

Explaining why he chose the said genre, Kim Woo Bin based his comment on other actors' experience. From what he heard, most historical series were filmed during colder seasons; hence playing the character with a "high-class role" has its perks.
It means the actor gets to wear layers and layers of clothing, which would keep them warm throughout the production.
Concluding the question, "The Heirs" stars said he "would like to play someone who has a high social status."
With his looks and physique, he could definitely ace the role of a crown prince.
Kim Woo Bin's Details Which Character is Close to His Personality
As the interview with the publication continues, the 32-year-old star spoke about the role which is most like him in real life. He revealed that it would be his upcoming series "Our Blues," where he plays Park Jung Hoon.

In Kim Woo Bin's new drama, he plays captain who falls in love with rookie female ship driver Lee Young Ok, played by Han Ji Min.
He mentioned that Park Jung Hoon's character is almost the same age as him.
The upcoming tvN series is among his lineup projects this 2022. Joining the cast of "Our Blues" is Kim Woo Bin's girlfriend Shin Min Ah, award-winning actor Lee Byung Hun, Cha Seung Won, Lee Jung Eun, Uhm Jung Hwa and more.
As for his big-screen comeback, the 32-year-old star will also headline the action sci-fi series "Alien + People" with Ryu Jun Yeol and Kim Tae Ri.
