Esom revealed her plans regarding the much-awaited SBS K-drama "Taxi Driver" Season 2 with lead star Lee Je Hoon.
In an exclusive report of JoyNews24, the 32-year-old star has decided to step down from the thriller-crime series. The outlet noted that Esom would not participate in the highly anticipated K-drama because of some issues.
Esom's Agency Confirms the Actress' Decision with the 'Taxi Driver' Season 2
Her agency, Artist Company, tells JoyNews24, that the actress has decided to step back from the K-drama due to the "difficulty in coordinating the schedule," hence, she ended up withdrawing from "Taxi Driver 2."
This is because apart from the crime-thriller series, the 32-year-old actress is set to headline three upcoming projects.
First is the webtoon-based K-drama "Black Knight," followed by the romance drama film "Starlight is Falling" and "Kill Bok Soon" with Hwang Jung Min and "Lost" star Jeon Do Yeon.

In "Taxi Driver," Esom wowed the viewers with her stellar performance, portraying the role of the feisty prosecutor Kang Ha Na, where she won Excellent Actress at the 2021 SBS Drama Awards.
The audience witnessed how she solved the puzzle involving the Rainbow Taxi crew led by Jang Sung Chul (Kim Eui Sung) and Kim Do Ki (Lee Je Hoon), and more.
'Taxi Driver' Season 2: Release Date, Cast and What To Expect
The first season of the top rating SBS series ended in May of 2021, but viewers are hopeful that it will return for season 2.
Fortunately, after months of discussion, the production company, Studio 2, formally announced that "Taxi Driver" is set to return for a sequel.
"Taxi Driver" follows the story of a group working for a company called Rainbow Taxi. However, aside from its usual service, some members worked for a secret organization that avenges victims from their perpetrators.
Kim Do Ki, played by Lee Je Hoon, acts as the leader who delivers satisfying revenge, while CEO Jang Sung Chul is the brain behind the organization.
Joining the team is the skilled hacker Ahn Go Eun (Pyo Ye Jin) together with mechanics Choi Kyung Goo and Park Jin Eon (Jang Hyuk Jin and Bae Yoo Ram.)
Following the confirmation regarding the highly anticipated sequel, "Taxi Driver 2" is expected to air in the second half of 2022.
During Lee Je Hoon's interview with SportTV News in 2021, he expressed his thoughts about season 2, noting that "if 'Taxi Driver' continues to become a franchise, I think we should at least bridge the gap between the first and second seasons."
To recall, the "Taxi Driver" season finale ended with a cliffhanger.
It hints at a surprising union between the prosecutor and the Rainbow Taxi team. At the time, viewers thought that Kang Ha Na would be part of Kim Do Ki's team.
