On Thursday, April 7, 2022, it was reported that actor Kim Soo Hyun would be reuniting with writer Park Ji Eun in a new work as the lead star. Park Ji Eun is the mind behind his previous dramas "The Producers" and "My Love From the Stars."
On the same day, Gold Medalist, Kim Soo Hyun's agency, clarified that the actor didn't receive any official offer.
The agency stated, "We've only received schedule inquiries. We didn't receive any official offers like a proposal or script."
Earlier this week, singer-actress IU's agency confirmed that she had turned down the offer to lead the drama.
The drama in question is writer Park Ji Eun's latest work entitled "Queen of Tears" (working title), which is reportedly about a chaebol family.
"Descendants of the Sun," "Goblin," "Mr. Sunshine" and "Sweet Home" director Lee Eung Bok will be holding the megaphone.

Actor Kim Soo Hyun gained recognition for his acting chops in the 2011 musical drama "Dream High" with Bae Suzy, IU and Ok Taecyeon.
He also appeared in many popular dramas such as "The Moon Embracing the Sun," "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" and "Miss Granny."

Kim Soo Hyun last appeared in the Coupang Play's crime melodrama "One Ordinary Day" with Cha Seung Won.
He portrayed a university student who became a murderer overnight by mistake. Kim Soo Hyun received critical acclaim and worldwide recognition for his realistic acting that definitely complimented with veteran actor Cha Seung Won's performance.
If Kim Soo Hyun is officially offered to appear in "Queen of Tears," it will mark the actor's comeback drama once he accepts it.
IU Turns Down 'Queen of Tears' Drama Offer
On April 7, singer-actress IU turned down the offer to appear in the forthcoming drama "Queen of Tears."
Due to scheduling conflicts, IU politely rejected Park Ji Eun's new work, which she was offered to lead.
IU has a busy roster for the year as she comes back to the silver screen with two new works.
She is a part of the star-studded cast of "Dream," which revolves around the story of a soccer player who becomes a coach for a special national soccer team.
The drama stars Park Seo Joon, Lee Hyun Woo, Kim Jong Soo and more.
On the other hand, she will also appear in the melodrama film "Broker" with Song Kang Ho, Kang Dong Won, Bae Doona and more.
