JTBC In Talks to Release American Remake of 'Itaewon Class'
According to Star News, a representative from JTBC shared that they are discussing the "Itaewon Class" entry to have an American remake.
Interestingly, aside from the possibility of having a U.S version, the Park Seo Joon and Kim da Mi led series will have a Japanese remake.

Following these, the network also revealed that the mega-hit series' Japanese remake is titled "Roppongi Class." It has cast a roster of top actors, including Takeuchi Ryoma, who is rumored to play Park Seo Joon's character.
At the time, JTBC shared that the "Itaewon Class" Japanese remake will have a 13-part series airing this summer.
Why 'Itaewon Class' is Worth the Hype?
The 2020 K-drama is based on the webtoon of the same name under Kakao Entertainment.
The 16-part episode series follows the story of a group of young individuals who are eager to fight against an unjust world.
Park Sae Roy, played by Park Seo Joon, encountered a series of unfortunate fates after he got expelled from school for defending himself against a bully.
Moreover, his life turned upside down after his father was killed in an accident. To follow his father's legacy, he started a pub in Itaewon called "DanBam." He worked together with his manager and staff as they strive for greater heights.
Other K-dramas with Upcoming Remakes
As K-contents gain global attention, Hollywood is reaching out to introduce top-notch K-dramas in the U.S.
Interestingly, several Korean series are slated to have American remakes, including Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin's "Crash Landing in You."
Studio Dragon's CEO Kang Chul Ku previously confirmed that the production company and Netflix are in the final planning and development stages to reproduce the rom-com series for American audiences.
Unfortunately, some fans expressed their disappointment noting that the U.S remake might ruin the storyline "Crash Landing on You."
Another K-drama that is set to have a remake is "Hotel Del Luna," starring IU and Yeo Jin Goo.
The 2019 fantasy rom-com received an overwhelming response from the viewers noting its unique story and impressive cast lineup.
Due to this, CJ ENM confirmed in June 2021 that the upcoming remake is in collaboration with Studio Dragon and Skydance Media, who is the production company behind "6 Underground," "Terminator," and "Mission Impossible."
