'Money Heist Korea: Joint Economic Area' Production Unit Shares Thoughts On the Series
The upcoming Netflix series "Money Heist Korea: Joint Economic Area" is the third work helmed together by director Kim Hong Sun and screenwriter Ryu Young Jae after "Liar Game" and "Pied Piper."
Kim Hong Sun admitted that he was captivated by the excellence of the Spanish series, which is the reason why he chose to do the drama.
"The characters in the drama have their own charms, and as a director, I want to showcase it through a new work," Kim Hong Sun said.
He added, "I guarantee that it will be a great work, despite being a South Korean remake of an original series."
Meanwhile, writer Ryu Young Jae revealed that he's a big fan of the Spanish heist series. When he was offered to do a remake, he thought it was fate.
"I was fascinated not only with the confrontation between the robbers and the police, but also the conflict, hope, suspicion and harmony of the South and North," he shared.
