The recently-premiered musical-fantasy drama "The Sound of Magic" demonstrated its popularity as it took the no. 4 spot among Netflix's top television programs among the world.
It follows the story of two lost youths who learn how to dream again after meeting a mysterious magician. Following its success, lead actor Hwang In Yeop dishes out his honest thoughts on the Netflix series.

In "The Sound of Magic," Hwang In Yeop stars as the genius high school student Na Il Deung. Despite his picture-perfect life, he doesn't truly live happily until he meets magician Lee Eul (Ji Chang Wook).
Na Il Deung thinks he'll be successful as long as he studies really hard. However, he doesn't know what he wants in life.
After becoming friends with Yoon Ah Yi (Choi Sung Eun), he begins to see life in a new perspective.
"Na Il Deung is a student who struggles to express his emotions. He's a pretty boy who suits his age," Hwang In Yeop commented.
Like his previous drama "True Beauty," Hwang In Yeop once again portrayed a high school student.

When asked about how he feels portraying student roles in his 30s, Hwang In Yeop shared that he feels thankful rather than embarrassed.
"The director cast me after seeing my potential," he confidently stated. "I work while doing my best, I'm really thankful."

Hwang In Yeop didn't forget to show his respect for his co-stars.
The actor confessed he felt nervous acting alongside Ji Chang Wook, who's a veteran in the acting scene.
"Ji Chang Wook is very cool on set. He brightens the atmosphere with his presence," the actor shared.
In particular, Hwang In Yeop shared that Ji Chang Wook is a senior who he looks up to as a role model.
As for Choi Sung Eun, Hwang In Yeop never experienced awkwardness as the two communicated really well.
Hwang In Yeop praised how Choi Sung Eun's eyes convey so much emotion. She also helped him with his scenes, giving advice and ideas.
According to Hwang In Yeop, his character wouldn't exist without Choi Sung Eun who diligently worked beside him.
He said, "I'm really glad that we worked together. If given the opportunity, I'd like to work again."

Hwang In Yeop showcased excellent acting skills once again in "The Sound of Magic," further strengthening his reputation.
Meanwhile, Hwang In Yeop is slated to return to the small screen this summer with "Why Her?," alongside Seo Hyun Jin. It's scheduled to air on June 3 at 10:00 p.m. KST on SBS.
