Lee Yoo Mi as Kang Nam in 'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon' Sequel
Morning of May 27, a media outlet announced that Lee Yoo Mi is chosen to play the female protagonist of the forthcoming "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" sequel. She will also team up for the first time with singer-actor Ong Seong Woo.
In addition to the report, Korean stars Kim Jong Un, Kim Hae Sook, and Byun Woo Suk are confirmed to join as cast members. It has been said that the production's goal is to start filming in earnest and target to release the drama in the first quarter of 2023.
"Mine" writer Baek Mi Kyung who also penned the "SWDBS" first sequel is in charge of the script, while "Drink Now, Work Later" director Kim Jung Sik will spearhead the whole production.
What We Know So Far About 'Strong Woman Kang Nam Soon'
The forthcoming sequel "Strong Woman Kang Nam Soon" follows the story of a woman named Kang Nam Soon, a cousin of Do Bong Soon. It is said to expand the worldview of the three generations, Kang Nam, her mother, and her grandmother.
Kim Jong Un is Hwang Geum Ju, a mother and cash tycoon in Gangnam and lives a life with righteousness. She always does good things to find her lost daughter. Lee Yoo Mi, as Kang Nam owns a superpower, came to Seoul to find her parents from Mongolia. What excites the viewers is the unpredictable chemistry that the two lead stars as mother and daughter will showcase in the series.
Meanwhile, actress Kim Hae Sook will immerse herself in the character of Gil Jung, a member of a secret investigation team that investigates drugs and other wrong practices in their village.
In 2017 A-class actress Park Bo Young headlined the romantic-comedy series "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" alongside singer-actor Park Hyung Sik. The series received good feedback from the viewers both in Korea and abroad.
