Ju Ji Hoon Drama: Is He Returning With New Series?

After the success of his team-up with Hallyu queen Jun Ji Hyun, the actor is making a comeback to the small screen with a new project.

According to a report, Ju Ji Hoon is in talks to headline the cast of the upcoming series "Dominant Species." The actor's agency, H& Entertainment, confirmed that the 40-year-old star "has received a casting offer" and "is currently reviewing it."

"Dominant Species" will be penned by "Stranger" and "Grid" screenwriter Lee Soo Yeon. While the actor selected to headline the cast, the upcoming series has yet to confirm the release date and which broadcasting network it will be under.

Interestingly, if Ju Ji Hoon officially accepts the offer, this will be his return to the industry after his reunion project with Jun Ji Hyun.

To recall, the two stars appeared in Netflix blockbuster Kdrama "Kingdom," where Ju Ji Hoon played Crown Prince Lee Chang. The latter was deemed the person behind his father's illness and the dynasty's devastating situation.

Because of its massive response from the public, the K-zombie series, which also stars Bae Doona, Kim Sung Gyu, and Ryu Seung Ryong, was renewed for another season and had a spin-off.

In "Kingdom 2," several cast reprised their roles, with Ju Ji Hoon appearing as the crown prince.

On top of it, the second season introduces the mysterious woman suspected of knowing the beginning of the plague.

Ashin, the mysterious woman, is played by non-other than Jun Ji Hyun.

Interestingly, she also returned for a spin-off titled "Kingdom: Ashin of the North," which focuses on the beginning of the plague and how it spread like wildfire.

Another spin-off is set to be released, focusing on Crown Prince Lee Chang's past and present life.

Titled "Kingdom: The Crown Prince," the upcoming spin-off is written by Kim Eun Hee, who also penned "Kingdom" season 1 and 2, the first spin-off, as well as "Signal" and "Jirisan."

As of this writing, there's no update regarding the release date of Ju Ji Hoon's new drama, but the new spin-off will surely be worth the wait.
