Nam Joo Hyuk as Basketball Coach Before Becoming an Actor
In the June 29 episode of Mnet's "TMI NEWS SHOW," the theme "Turnarounds in life. BEST 11 stars who became bosses after working as part-timers" trended on various online communities.
The new episode named the Korean stars who used to work as part-timers and are now successful.
Model-actor Nam Joo Hyuk was named as the 8th celebrity and who was said to have a bright future in his career. He had an impressive height of 184cm during his middle school days. However, the "Start-Up" actor had to give up on his dream of becoming a basketball player because of an injury.
But he didn't give up yet. He used this opportunity to showcase his skills and ability to work part-time as a basketball coach. Apart from being a coach, "The Bride of Habaek" star had many sides hustles, such as mart carts arranger, fueling gas for vehicles, parking guide, and more. He did those to support his family.

As the program continued, the host revealed to the public that before Nam Joo Hyuk debuted in 2013, the heartthrob worked three part-time jobs a month and had estimated earnings of 2,450,000 won.
Nam Joo Hyuk Earned 800 Million KRW in 'Twenty Five, Twenty One'
After working in various companies and learning new things in each job he had, Nam Joo Hyuk made a successful transformation when he entered the world of show business. From minor roles to finally having his lead roles, Nam Joo Hyuk captured many with his top-notch acting and dazzling visuals.
It was his drama comeback after almost two years following his 2020 series "Start-Up," where he teamed up with labelmate and "Nation's first love" Suzy.
The fruit of his hard work is finally paying off. In fact, according to TMI NEWS SHOW, Nam Joo Hyuk received 50 million KRW per episode in his recent K-drama "Twenty Five, Twenty One," which means he earned about 800 million KRW for his appearance in the whole 16 episodes of the series. It has been said that his income has increased by up to 326 times.
In the meantime, Nam Joo Hyuk is preparing for his next project, "Vigilante."
