OCN's Action Drama 'The Player' Confirmed for Season 2

2022 has finally entered its second half, yet new series keep coming. Apart from it, multiple K-dramas are making headlines as its productions are announced to have new sequels. Following the confirmation of "Uncanny Counter" Season 2, another OCN show is about to return to primetime.

On July 12, as cited by a K-media news outlet, "The Player" starring Song Seung Hun is confirmed to have season 2, with its tentative title "Player: The War of the Goons." In addition, the new sequel is expected to have a more exciting and thrilling plot.

The action drama "The Player" follows the story of four talented individuals, Kang Ha Ri, Cha Ah Ryung, Im Byung Min, and Do Jin Woong in their fields who create an elite team to solve crimes in collaboration with a righteous prosecutor. The squad confiscates dirty money and makes sure to arrest the people behind the illegal act.

In "The Player" Season 2, it has been said that it will grow its business into a global project, which means the production is considering filming abroad. The team is looking for various places such as famous resorts since international flights have already re-opened.

Furthermore, lead cast members Song Seung Hun, Lee Si Eon, and Tae Won Seok are about to make a comeback in the upcoming season. Krystal Jung, who was in season 1 might not appear in the second installment of the series. Meanwhile, director Go Jae Hyun and production company Studio Dragon will join forces for the project.

Another OCN Drama 'Uncanny Counter' To Return With New Season in 2023

Aside from "The Player," another record-breaking OCN series, "Uncanny Counter," is also confirmed for a new sequel. The drama production also announced that original cast members Kim Sejeong, Jo Byung Gyu, Yoo Jun Sang, and Yum Hye Ran would all return in the series' second installment.

The action-adventure drama will officially start filming production later this year and has the goal to hit primetime in the first half of 2023.
