As Joo Won's new movie "Carter" continues to join the race in Netflix's top 10, the actor detailed his preparations for playing the top-skilled agent. The 34-year-old star had a guest appearance on SBS Power FM radio where he spoke about the success of the action-packed movie.
Joo Won Diet: Carter Star Reveals Cutting Fat to his Meal Plan
In a previous interview ahead of the "Carter" premiere, as obtained by a news portal, he revealed that he bulked up for his role and gained 7 kg.
However, in his recent appearance with the radio station, the lead star revealed that besides working out, he also had a strict meal plan.
Joo Won's diet focused on protein and cutting out fat. He explained that it's quite challenging to bulk up and gain 7 kg alone just by doing exercise, adding that he also concentrates on his eating habits.
"I also ate protein well, and increased fat and muscle mass together," he said adding, "I ate well with healthy food."
When asked how he managed to maintain his weight the actor revealed that he avoids eating fat.

According to Healthline, fatty foods or saturated fats have a negative effect on the body. Besides its bloating effect, too much of this might cause stomach pain and diarrhea.
Moreover, it may also harm the gut which may lead to difficulty in weight regulation, immune response, and digestion of fiber.
Interestingly as for Joo Won's physical preparation for "Carter" he previously shared that he underwent four months of rigorous training to help him flawlessly portray the action stunts and fight scenes.
As the viewers get to see Netflix's "Carter" the actor was lauded for his unrecognizable transformation to playing the top agent.
Besides his swoon-worthy physique, Joo Won also sported a buzz cut and tattooed body which was similar to his usual image. He said that having that kind of hair was new to him since it was his first time having that hairstyle.
'Carter' Remains Second in Netflix's Top 10 Movie
Helmed and written by Jung Byung Gil of "Action Boys" and "Confession of Murder," "Carter" follows the story of an agent who woke up one day without recalling his past and even his identity.
His new mission is to save the human race from a zombie virus by rescuing the daughter of the scientist who has the cure for the virus.
Released on August 5, Joo Won's new movie immediately entered Netflix's top 10 and remained in second place for five consecutive days, as obtained by a streaming data aggregator platform, Flix Patrol.
"Carter" is currently ranked first in 16 countries including the Philippines, Malaysia, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Thailand, Turkey, and more.
Besides Joo Won, the "Carter" cast also includes Lee Sung Jae, Jung So Ri, and "Partners for Justice" star Jung Jae Young as doctor Jung Byeong Ho.
