'Blind' Episode 1: Ryu Sung Jun Dedicated To Find the Culprit Behind Baek Ji Eun's Death

"Blind" follows the story of ordinary citizens who became unfair victims and the perpetrators who closed their eyes to the uncomfortable truth.

In "Blind" Episode 1, the public was shocked about Baek Ji Eun's (Oh Se Young) case. She was 20-year-old university student who was murdered by a psycho on the night of her birthday. Her mouth was torn; hence, they called the case Joker Murder.

Detective Ryu Sung Jun (Ok Taecyeon) was in charge of the case. He struggled to uncover the truth at first. But as meticulous that he is, he began searching for evidence alone as he was not satisfied with their team's recent investigation.

Later on after thorough investigation, he arrested the suspect Jung Man Chun (Jeon Jin Woo). He claimed his innocence, applied for a participatory trial, presided by Judge Ryu Sung Hoon (Ha Seok Jin), who is Ryu Sung Jun's brother.

There were ordinary citizens invited as panel at the Joker Murder case, and they were chosen through drawlots.

In the end, the trial was revised to be participatory trial. There were 9 individuals participated at the trial, namely Kang Young Ki (Kim Ha Kyun), Kwon Kyung Ja (Choi Ji Yeon), Bae Chul Ho (Jo Seung Yeon), Ahn Tae Ho (Chae Dong Hyun), Yum Hye Jin (Baek Seung Hee), Jung In Sung (Park Ji Bin), Choi Soon Gil (Choi Jae Sup), Charles (Oh Seung Yun), and Jo Eun Gi (Jung Eun Ji).

They all attended the courthouse and listened to Jung Man Chun's story. The accused murderer insisted that the deceased woman's father Baek Moon Kang (Kim Pub Lae) tried to scare her daughter with a knife for not paying her, an illegal immigrant, but she did not kill him.

Jung Man Chun also said that the real culprit was detective Ryu Sung Jun.
