LeBron James and the Miami Heat travel to Chicago Thursday night to meet the Chicago Bulls in a big NBA matchup of two top teams. The game will be live streamed at 8:30 PM ET.
The Bulls will be missing, for the second consecutive season, their superstar guard, Derek Rose. Rose re-injured his knee in the current seasons' tenth game, tearing his meniscus, requiring season-ending surgery.
The Bulls miss Rose and as a result are having a difficult time scoring points without the creative point guard who is capable of penetrating any defense and could finish baskets at the rim or dish off passes to open jump shooters. Without that particular skill in their lineup, Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau has to devise new ways to score with the remaining talent he has to work with.
Against Miami, the Bulls will have to slow the game down and prevent LeBron and Dwyane Wade from running up and down the court in a fastbreak style. The Bulls will not have a chance to win this game if they can't control the backboards.
It will be up to Joachim Noah, the Bulls center, and Carlos Boozer, their power forward to control the boards and keep the ball in Chicago's possession as much as possible. If the Bulls cannot outrebound the Heat, James and Wade will fastbreak the home team into an easy defeat.
The Bulls scoring load will be handled by Luol Deng, their small forward who is averaging 19.4 points per game. Deng will have to get help from Boozer, a 15.0 ppg. scorer and Taj Gibson, averaging 11.5 points per game.
Miami is, as usual led by James, averaging 26 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game. His sidekick, fellow superstar Wade, hasn't slowed down noticeably. His averages are still a healthy 18.5, 5.4 apg., and 4.6 rpg.
