Why Did Kwak Si Yang Withdraw From Playing Lead Role in 'The Real Deal Has Come'?

Just days before the filming production starts, Kwak Si Yang made a difficult decision this week.

According to a media outlet on December 21, the actor was supposed to headline the family series "The Real Deal Has Come," also known as "The Real One Has Appeared," but he withdrew from his role.

On the same day, in response to the news, Kwak Si Yang's agency stated that the actor decided to step down from the project due to scheduling conflicts.

Originally, he was about to play the character of Gong Tae Kyung.

He was expected to team up with Baek Jin Hee, who will play the role of Yeon Doo. With his jam-packed schedule, Kwak Si Yang had to give up his spot in the KBS weekend drama to prioritize his other projects.

Kwak Si Yang Chooses 'Desperate Pursuit' Over 'The Real Deal Has Come'

According to the report, the "Chicago Typewriter" star ran into scheduling conflicts after he started filming the movie "Desperate Pursuit," which already began production on December 19. The release date of the film is still in discussion.

KBS and the drama's production just confirmed on December 22 that Ahn Jae Hyun will replace Kwak Si Yang as the new male lead of the series.

"The Real Deal Has Come" is slated to premiere sometime in 2023.

Previously, Kwak Si Yang entertained the viewers with his goofy and interesting character in the fantasy-romance drama "Cafe Minamdang." He took the role of Kong Su Cheol. The actor starred alongside Seo In Guk, Oh Yeon Seo, Kang Mi Na, and Baek Seo Hoo.
