Episode 11 of Homeland Season 3 features Nick Brody and Carrie Mathison at arm’s length. Yet, they are still far apart.
The episode, “Big Man in Tehran,” has Brody back in the picture and Carrie is back in his life. The new clips released by Showtime as the hit show’s sneak preview this week shows Brody emerging from a building, escorted by Iranian local officials.
A group of men walked him to a waiting vehicle, passing through a group of Iranian supporters calling out his name.
Just before he got into the car with other men, Brody held up his arms and told his supporters why he found himself in Tehran.
"I am here to seek asylum. This is the only place in the world that I can find peace,” Brody said, holding his clenched fist close to his heart and a look of gratitude to a group of people in Iran who greeted him warmly.
Unknown to Brody, there’s another soul among the people who has his full support - - his former flame and CIA case officer, Carrie Mathison.
The CIA officer was seen mixing with the locals in local traditional clothes for women. To ensure anonymity, Carrie also dyed her hair dark black, the same color she used when she went on a mission to pick up a spy in Season 2.
Brody got into the car and drove away without knowing that Carrie was in the vicinity.
Episode 11 of “Homeland” Season 3 also saw Saul telling his people that Brody was on the move. Unlike their original plan, which should have had Brody going to a top local official to kill him after earning his trust. The target instead went to Brody and it’s a whole new game plan for the war veteran turned suspected terrorist.
This week’s synopsis reads: “Brody’s loyalty to the mission wavers when he meets a ghost from his past. Meanwhile, Lockhart’s confirmation looms; and Saul stares into the precipice between success and failure.”
“Homeland” Season 3 Episode 11 airs on Showtime 9pm EPT.
