On February 7, Yoo Ah In alarmed many after various media outlets reported that he is being investigated by the police for habitual use of propofol.
Based on the news released on February 9, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Drug Crime Investigation Unit said they launched an investigation into the actor, who is being suspected of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
In cooperation with the authorities, Yoo Ah In is banned from leaving the country. Because of this, the award-winning actor's projects set to be released this year on the streaming giant Netflix were put on alert.
Particularly, "The Match" was supposed to air in the second quarter, and "Hi.5" was planned to meet the viewers in the first half of 2023. However, as the propofol suspicion involving Yoo Ah In broke out, there might be changes in the projects' release dates.
Netflix, known for producing most of Yoo Ah In's recent works, is troubled now as most of the actor's works are already set to meet the audience but had to make changes because of the male star's current situation.
