Gong Yoo, “At First I Rejected Invitation To ‘The Suspect.’”

Actor Gong Yoo revealed his reasons for deciding to film the movie "The Suspect."

Gong Yoo in the press release of the movie "The Suspect," which took place in Wang Ship Ri CGV in Seoul in the afternoon of December 9, 2013, said, "I agreed to film 'The Suspect when I heard director Won Shin Yeon say that he wanted to film an action movie with a through and strong storyline instead of an action movie only with cool visuals."

Gong Yoo said on this day during the press release, "I am very sorry to say this but, when I was invited to film 'The Suspect,' for the first time, I rejected the offer. I felt bad turning down the offer so I met with him to tell him the bad news. However, what director Wong Shin Yeon told me when we met really change my mind, and I decided to film it." Gong Yoo added, "While filming the movie, I realized how good director Wong Shin Yeon is at filing action movie. I learned a lot from filming this movie."

The real action movie "The Suspect" tells a story of a special agent Choi Jung Ye, played by Gong Yoo, who chases after the murderer of his family members while being a target of everybody. Gong Yoo in this movie turns over his previous image of romantic nice guy from "Coffee Prince" and becomes a tough guy. Director Won Shin Yeon of the movie "Seven Days" produced the movie. Gong Yoo, Park Hee Soon, and Jo Sung Ha star in the movie.

"The Suspect" premiers on Christmas Eve.
