Park Bo Young Reveals Experiencing Acting Slump Because of Lee Byung Hun

On August 2, Park Bo Young sat for a media interview before the release of her new movie "Concrete Utopia." The disaster film will be screened beginning August 9, and it foretells the story of earthquake survivors.

The actress takes the role of Myeong Hwa, a nurse and a person who never loses faith even in the most difficult situations.

When talking about her scenes with Lee Byung Hun, she mentioned feeling intimidated by the actor's intense gaze. She revealed how her co-star rarely comments on other stars' performances but once asked her not to break eye contact during a crucial scene.

Park Bo Young expressed her gratitude for Lee Byung Hun's guidance but she also confessed to experiencing a slump during the filming of the movie because of her admiration for the actor's acting abilities.

"I had a slump because of Lee Byung Hun. I am grateful for him and I'm satisfied that I showed a new side of myself."

Since then, the "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" actress started to become more comfortable around the actor until they completed the filming session. She even quipped that she even set her phone's wallpaper to Lee Byung Hun's character Yeong Tak, in preparation for her scenes.

But after the production concluded, Park Bo Young immediately changed it.

Aside from the veteran actor, Park Bo Young also shared her experience working with Park Seo Joon, who will play her husband in "Concrete Utopia."

It was her first time working with the heartthrob and had an awkward atmosphere at first, but as they went along the filming, she sensed a familiarity with him and hinted at the possible collaboration again in the future.

Park Bo Young expressed that in her comeback movie, she aimed to show a different side of herself. She shared her desire to continue exploring diverse roles and stated that one of her ultimate goals as an actress is to be satisfied with her performances, which she believes is a challenging part of acting.

Furthermore, the actress will make her small-screen return through "Daily Dose of Sunshine," which is scheduled to release in the last quarter of 2023 on Netflix.
