Idols are no longer limited to the music stage. Many of them have embarked on successful acting careers, capturing the hearts of fans all over the world.

On September 12, Star News published a report introducing the results of their conducted survey, participated by 31 renowned industry experts from top entertainment management. They cast votes for the top male acting idols for this year.

Lee Junho (2PM)

2PM's Junho stole the show after topping the list with 21 votes out of 31. Starting his acting career in the film "Cold Eyes" in 2013, Lee Junho's performances in "Twenty" and "Wok of Love" earned him early acclaim.

His high caliber of acting became more prominent after he made a comeback with "The Red Sleeve," earning him multiple trophies for his notable performance. Lee Junho rose to mega-stardom after this series and received more than 100 scripts for his next projects. In 2023, he headlined JTBC's "King the Land" and made back-to-back achievements for recording high ratings and topping the most buzzworthy lists.

Doh Kyungsoo (EXO) and Im Siwan (ZE:A)

These idol-actors tied for the second spot and accumulated 11 votes. After D.O. debuted in "Cart" in 2014, he has been honing his craft for acting over a decade. He received praise for his performance in the new movie "The Moon." A respected figure in entertainment highlighted his capability to embrace a plethora of roles in any genre.

Im Siwan, on the other hand, challenges himself in exploring various genres, may it be in movies or dramas. He has exhibited his depth as an actor through his previous works "The Attorney" and "Misaeng: Incomplete Life."

He also made history by becoming the first idol to grace the Cannes International Film Festival with his movies "Bad Guy's World" and "Emergency Declaration."

Cha Eun Woo (ASTRO)

Cha Eun Woo secured his spot on the list and received 4 votes. His visual appeal complemented his progressing acting prowess. He has showcased diverse acting chops in projects such as "True Beauty," "Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung," and "My ID is Gangnam Beauty."

He had a massive transformation in the fantasy-adventure series "Island" where he surprised the public with his impressive action stunts.

Park Hyung Sik (ZE:A) & Rowoon (SF9)

Park Hyung Sik goes head-to-head with Rowoon as they tie for fifth place. These idol-actors indeed have a strong charisma, may it be on stage or screen.

ZE:A's Park Hyung Sik made his name known in the entertainment world, possessing a wide range of talent for music and acting. His flexibility as an actor became noticeable after he played interesting roles in "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" and "Suits."

Rowoon is harnessing massive support from international fans after he made a comeback with the romance drama "Destined With You." Since he headlined "Extraordinary You" he has been capturing the public's attention.

This SF9 member perfectly immerses himself in every character given to him, now that he is challenged with a new role, he is consistently doing great. His performances highlight his capability to tap into complex characters, reflecting the maturity of his acting through the years of being active in the industry.
