On October 12, media outlets cited that the South Korean actor is in talks to star in the webtoon-based historical series.

Taking on his new lead role, Ahn Bo Hyun's agency, FN Entertainment, confirmed the casting news and said that the actor "did receive the offer to lead 'Haesi's Shinru,' but nothing has been decided yet." Moreover, reports also mentioned that he is still reviewing the offer.
However, despite no official announcement from the broadcast and drama officials, news regarding Ahn Bo Hyun's new drama sparks disappointment from the public.
Viewers Unhappy With Ahn Bo Hyun as Lead Star in 'Haesi's Shinru'
As mentioned by a news portal, fans are not thrilled to see the 35-year-old actor play the main character.
While the majority were surprised that Ahn Bo Hyun got the offer, others pointed out that the actor is "not suitable for the romance genre."

Meanwhile, negative comments also mentioned Kim Seon Ho's name, who was initially selected as the main character for "Haesi's Shinru."

'Haesi's Shinru': Here's What We Know About the K-Drama
"Haesi's Shinru" is based on the popular webtoon of the same name, written by Yoo Yi Soo of "Love in the Moonlight."
Set in the renaissance of Joseon, the reign of King Sejeong, the upcoming K-drama depicts the romance between Crown Prince Lee Hyang, who is also a genius scientist, and a woman with a bizarre identity.
The plot thickens after he crosses paths with the mysterious woman who can see the future.
Initially, the lead role is offered to Kim Seon Ho, which is supposed to be his comeback K-drama after "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha." Unfortunately, the casting offer was not pushed through.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that Ahn Bo Hyun has replaced Kim Seon Ho.
