In a report cited by a local media outlet, MBC announced that they are positively discussing an extension due to the drama's popularity.
Amid the devastating war where several of their neighbors and family lost their lives, they found themselves being separated before they could even start to open up about their true feelings.
The first season debuted with an impressive rating of 5.4 percent and wrapped up "My Dearest" season 1 with a whopping 12.2 percent nationwide rating.
Interestingly, the craze continues as MBC dropped the show's Part 2 and is still at a double-digit rating for the first half.
Apart from that, "My Dearest" is also considered one of the most watched K-dramas in the second half of the year. This prompted lead stars Namgoong Min and Ahn Eun Jin to secure the top spots on the most buzzworthy drama and actor rankings.
