'Goodbye Earth' to Premiere in 2024 + Yoo Ah In's Airtime to be Reduced
After months of being delayed due to issues surrounding the cast member, the streaming giant is looking into releasing the webtoon-based K-drama following Yoo Ah In's drug case.
Since the production team concluded the filming session before the news about the actor broke, Netflix plans on editing out Yoo Ah In's portion "as much as possible."
Back in March 2023, at the height of the drug controversy, a source from Netflix shared that they had discussed with the production team to "tentatively postpone the release of 'Goodbye Earth'" and will update the public once the premiere date is confirmed.
Following the update regarding Netflix's "Goodbye Earth," Yoo Ah In is set to go on his first trial, scheduled for December 12.
Initially, the first formal trial was scheduled for November 14, but his legal team requested to postpone the hearing due to a limited preparation period.
Yoo Ah In was also indicted without detention in November on eight charges, which include violation of the Medical Service Act, fraud, violation of the National Health Insurance Act, and violation of the Resident Registration Act.
