Kang Ki Young finally makes his K-drama comeback this 2024 with the brand new JTBC show "Queen of Divorce."
After playing supporting roles for years, the actor finally landed his first-ever major acting role, much to the fans' delight.
In an interview, Kang Ki Young dished on his thoughts on taking on the new challenge and more.
Kang Ki Young Dishes on 'Queen of Divorce' Casting
On January 29, Kang Ki Young, together with Lee Ji Ah, made a guest appearance in Shin Dong Yeop's web show "Salty Brother Shin Dong Yeop."
The two greeted the viewers and promoted their forthcoming rom-com drama "Queen of Divorce," which marks Kang Ki Young's first-ever work in the leading role.
In the past year, he showed improved acting through "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" and "The Uncanny Counter 2," raising curiosity about what kind of performance he will show.

Shin Dong Yeop confessed to being a fan of the actor, sharing that he looks forward to seeing his new work this 2024 which left Kang Ki Young nervous.
"This is my first male lead role so the pressure is on," Kang Ki Young admitted. "I'm cautious in creating ad libs and mischievous moments."
He reasoned that his performance in the brand new work would determine whether or not she would play the male lead again in the future.
Shin Dong Yeop cheered on the actor, saying that the burden may have been very great as a driving force to showcase his amazing talent in acting.

Kang Ki Young Expresses Gratitude To Lee Ji Ah
In the interview, Lee Ji Ah revealed that she personally recommended Kang Ki Young to the showrunners.
"I thought he was a great fit for the role," Lee Ji Ah reasoned. "I watched his previous works and I know we'd make a lot of fun things together."
In response to this, Kang Ki Young thanked the seasoned star for the opportunity and her guidance throughout the production.
According to him, Lee Ji Ah made sure that he feels comfortable on set while working. She would also run lines with him, polishing every detail to create a more desirable performance.
With this, the two stars guarantee an exhilarating chemistry between them that fans shouldn't miss in "Queen of Divorce."
