Kim Ji Hoon Reveals Short-Lived Idol Journey
Kim Ji Hoon made his guest appearance in the famous YouTube talk show "Don't Forget Your Breakfast," hosted by Jang Sung Kyu.
The actor made a name for himself by appearing in various romantic-comedy genre series. But he garnered much attention and earned the spotlight for his antagonist roles in "Flower of Evil," "Money Heist: Korea-Joint Economic Area," and "Death's Game."
Through those dramas, the actor now became the famous K-Drama villain which changed the trajectory of his career.
During the interview, the star mentioned that he'd been a trainee under SM Entertainment at the same time as Super Junior members.
According to the actor, he trained hard enough to make it into the lineup of a five-member group. However, despite the hard work, he failed to join the lineup.

Jang Sung Kyu asked Kim Ji Hoon why the group didn't work out, then the actor honestly said that he wasn't a good singer.
The "Love to Hate You" actor also revealed that even though most of the trainees did lip-syncing, he remembered how embarrassing it was to find excuses not to sing live.
At that time, Kim Ji Hoon realized that he was not meant to become a K-pop idol.
"When someone asks me to sing, it is not good. It was absurd. That's when I realized that I shouldn't be a singer. I made a decision to leave and searched into other fields."

Ending his idol career worked in Kim Ji Hoon's favor as he is now recognized and praised for portraying the most convincing K-drama villains.
What's Next for Kim Ji Hoon
In 2023, Kim Ji Hoon dominated the small screen with back-to-back projects. He started the year with the romantic-comedy series "Love to Hate You" where he worked with Yoo Teo and Kim Ok Vin.
His adorable on-screen chemistry with Go Won Hee in the drama also brought laughter and charm to the audience. In the same year, he graced primetime with TVING's "Death Game," where he played another villain character Park Tae U.
Despite his short appearance, the actor once again mesmerized the audience with his acting. The male star also worked with Jeon Jong Seo in the Netflix movie "Ballerina."
As of this writing, Kim Ji Hoon has no confirmed acting projects yet but is active in appearing in different variety shows.
