Hong Su Zu Lambasted for Poor Acting in 'The Impossible Heir'

Viewers continue to criticize Hong Su Zu's portrayal of Na Hye Won in the webtoon-based K-drama "The Impossible Heir."

The actress plays as one of the main leads, and on top of that, she is also Lee Jae Wook and Lee Jun Young's love interest, which makes her character significant.

However, viewers can't ignore the actress' "stiff" acting, and are utterly disappointed with her performance.

Others even mentioned that Hong Su Zu's performance ruined the plot and its potential to be a hit series.

In addition, some express their displeasure since the K-drama already features an interesting lineup, with Lee Jae Wook and Lee Jun Young headlining the series.

Hong Su Zu Labeled as 'Shin Se Kyung #2' Due to Similar 'Stiff' Acting

Meanwhile, Shin Se Kyung has been dragged into Hong Su Zu's performance issue, with people noting the two actresses' similarities.

Over SNS, the "Run On" actress surprisingly garnered attention after multiple web users mentioned her in the comments' section.

Referring to Hong Su Zu, one commented wrote: "In her Shin Se Kyung core."

Some defended the "Arthdal Chronicles" actress from being dragged into the controversy, while others argued that her K-dramas were very painful to watch, especially those from 2012 to 2014.

To recall, Shin Se Kyung was also criticized for her poor acting skills, with some even questioning why she was getting lead roles when a lot of actresses in her generation could do better.

The actress was even dubbed as "Stiff Shin" by viewers, describing how uncomfortable it is to watch on-screen, especially during emotional scenes, and how she could only do a single expression as she lacks flexibility with her acting.

In addition, others even pointed out that she could do well as a model because of her visuals, but not as an actress.

Despite the criticisms, Shin Se Kyung received various nominations, including Best New Actress-Television at the 2010 Baeksang Arts Awards for her role in "High Kick Through the Roof," as well as Best Actress Award in a Miniseries for "A Girl Who Sees Smells," and Top Excellence in a Serial Drama for "Six Flying Dragons," both for the APAN Star Awards.

In addition to this, she continues to headline multiple K-dramas, with her most recent being the historical series "Captivating the King" with Jo Jung Suk.
