'Parasyte: The Grey' Debuts Successfully In Netflix Global

In just three days after its release, the Netflix series "Parasyte: The Grey" took the No. 1 spot in the global entertainment scene.

Starring Jeon So Nee, Koo Kyo Hwan, Lee Jung Hyun and more, the show follows the struggles of a young woman who gets possessed by an alien parasite that plans to kill humanity.

The show is based on the popular Japanese comic of the same name. According to Flix Patrol, it took the No. 1 spot in more than 20 countries including South Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, Qatar and Hong Kong.

Fans of the series were able to enjoy a riveting story that is a blend of thriller, action and romance, and also binds two stories from the original work and Yeon Sang Ho's interpretation.

The original main character in the comic called Shinichi Izumi (Masaki Suda), who was replaced by Jung Su In (Jeon So Nee), appeared in the final episode of the show.

It surprised a lot of fans as well as satisfied original comic readers. Because of this, a door is left open for questions whether there would be a second or third season event for the Netflix show.

Has 'Parasyte: The Grey' Been Renewed For Season 2?

Because of the rather open ending in the six-episode drama, many believe that a Season 2 is coming to the small screens in no time to further satisfy their audiences.

However, Netflix hasn't released any word on whether "Parasyte: The Grey" will be renewed for a second season, especially that the series has only been available for streaming.

In retrospect, horror K-dramas like "Parasyte: The Grey" including "Sweet Home," "Gyeongseong Creature" and "All of Us Are Dead" have been renewed in the past.

With this logic, things might be great for the drama and for the fans who are waiting for a new season. On the other hand, "Parasyte: The Grey" is streaming on Netflix. Check it out now.
