THIS ‘The World of the Married’ Actress Reveals Having the Same Experience as Her K-drama Character

Park Sun Young, best known for her role in the hit K-drama "The World of the Married," shared her stories about exposing an affair that eventually affected her friendship.

During her appearance in SBS' "My Little Old Boy," the actress recalled a similar experience from a scene in the blockbuster JTBC K-drama.

In the revenge drama, Park Sun Young played the role of Go Ye Rim; she is one of the neighbors of doctor Ji Sun Woo, portrayed by Kim Hee Ae, and the wife of Son Je Hyuk, played by Kim Young Min.

One of the significant details about her character in "The World of the Married" was her knowledge of Ji Sun Woo's husband's attitude toward her.

After Ji Sun Woo found out that Ye Rim hid the truth about her, she took her revenge by seducing her husband, Je Hyuk.

In the end, the couple tried to patch things up, but Go Ye Rim chose to break free from him.

Although Park Sun Young's marital life is quite far from her K-drama, she revealed that she exposed an affair but ended up ruining their friendship.

Interestingly, one of the hosts of "My Little Old Boy" asked her what she would do if she witnessed something like this in real life.

The actress surprised the viewers when she confessed that she had the same scenario. Park Sun Young revealed the truth to her friend, but it did not go as planned.

"After much thought, I told my friend that her husband was cheating on her. I thought they would get a divorce. But they didn't."

Adding that the friend continued to be with the cheating husband and chose to "live with him in pain."

Park Sun Young shared that the incident ended their friendship.

On the other hand, at the time of "The World of the Married" finale, the JTBC series received a remarkable 28.4% rating for its 16th episode, making it one of the most watched K-dramas of all time.

As the JTBC series bid goodbye to viewers, cast members, including Park Sun Young, thanked the viewers for their huge support.

"Now that I'm doing a final interview like this, it really feels as if it's coming to an end. Thanks to your interest and love, we were able to gather strength and work hard on filming," she said, adding that the actress "had so much fun" throughout the production, especially with her working relationship with the senior actors.

Meanwhile, Park Sun Young returned to K-drama as she joined the cast of "The Love Story of Choon Hwa," headlined by Go Ah Ra and Chang Ryul, set to premiere sometime in 2024.
