During her guest appearance on the YouTube channel "Everyday Is Thursday Night," hosted by Cho Hyun Ah, the "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo '' star surprised fans with unheard stories about her life.

Sharing a glimpse of her past experiences, Lee Sung Kyung confessed having a difficult time in 2023.

Best known for her role in "Doctors," the "Doctor Romantic" series, and, of course, the hit K-drama "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo," the 33-year-old actress has proven to the viewers how versatile she is when it comes to acting.

From villain roles to protagonists, and from rom-coms to drama, Lee Sung Kyung always delivers amazing performances.

However, despite her continuing projects, the actress admits that there are days when she feels at her lowest.

Lee Sung Kyung on Dealing With Rough Time in Life

In her interview with MC Cho Hyun Ah, Lee Sung Kyung recalls a time when negative words would easily affect her.

However, she managed to overcome it by changing her mindset to "it's okay to be misunderstood," which helped her feel at ease.

Lee Sung Kyung also opened up about dealing with mental health issues and confessed that she "had the most difficult time mentally" in 2023.

According to her, she "couldn't rest" and was feeling tired, hence the lack of serotonin, which is associated with calmness and happiness. As for dopamine, it has a connection with rewards and motivation.

"As my mind became so weak, of course, it didn't work out with the method I used to solve it."

Lee Sung Kyung admits being a "gold spoon" but delivers a heartfelt reason why she is thankful for this.

According to the actress, she grew up being loved by her family.

"My parents taught me to dream without being swayed even when I was having a hard time, and I grew up in a family where I could learn to keep watching forward and praying when I was having a hard time."

Expressing her affection towards her family, Lee Sung Kyung shared how her mother would support her and revealed that they were the ones who encouraged her to try modeling.

According to the actress, it was her parents who asked her to apply for the show "Supermodel," where she won a special prize.

Following her success in modeling, Lee Sung Kyung revealed that she initially had no intentions of becoming an actress, "but suddenly the director of 'It's Okay, That's Love' contacted me," she said, referring to one of her first on-screen projects.
