Based on the popular webtoons "Pie Game" and "Money Game," "The 8 Show" is a mix of dark comedy and thriller mystery K-drama that depicts the story of eight individuals who were invited to the mysterious game show.
Although the participants came from different backgrounds, one thing is common about them, and that is that eight of them are struggling financially.
With hopes of earning a huge amount of cash, the contestants joined the show despite being clueless about what's in it for them.
Meet 'The 8 Show' Cast
Netflix introduces Ryu Jun Yeol as Bae Jin Su, a middle-aged guy who works various jobs for him to pay the loan sharks.
In "The 8 Show," he chose 3, which made him the 3rd floor guy.
The first floor was selected by the circus clown performer Bae Seong Woo, while the second floor girl was played by Lee Joo Young.
The fourth and fifth floor girls were played by Lee Yul Eum and Moon Jung Hee, respectively.
As for the top floors, the seventh-floor guy is the most intelligent out of all the bunch and uses this to his advantage.
Later on, he was introduced as Mr. Yu, played by Park Jung Min.
Last on the list is the eighth-floor woman portrayed by Chun Woo Hee, a performing artist who earns the highest amount per minute in the game.
Will There be a Season 2 of 'The 8 Show'?
"The 8 Show" never fails to continue to intrigue the viewers, even up to the last scene. The post-credit showcased a pivotal part of whether there will be "The 8 Show" season 2 by leaving viewers with a cliffhanger.
However, as of this writing, drama and Netflix officials are yet to confirm if the webtoon-based drama will be renewed.
Plus, it's too early to tell if season 2 gets a green light. Usually, K-dramas like "Squid Game," "All of Us Are Dead," and those series that created a huge craze globally return with a sequel.
