Ji Sung is determined to hunt down the true killer behind the death of Yoon Na Moo's character.
Interestingly, he thinks that the murder case of his friend was connected to him being forced by an unknown syndicate to take illegal drugs.
Helmed by "Trolley" director Kim Moon Kyo, the weekend K-drama depicts the journey of ace detective Jang Jae Kyung, who is the chief of the narcotics department.
Ironically, he becomes addicted to illegal drugs after being abducted by an unknown group and turned into a drug addict.
Amid this, he was reunited with his former high school classmate, Oh Yoon Jin (Jeon Mi Do), who is now a reporter.
The incident did not just bring them together; they agreed to team up to find the truth behind their friend's murder.
'Connection' Viewership
As the drama entered the second half of the season, Ji Sung and Jeon Mi Do's drama experienced a slight dip in rating.
In a report, Nielsen Korea garnered an average nationwide rating of 9.1 percent. It is a minimal decrease from its previous rating of 9.4 percent.
Despite it, "Connection" episode 8 remained the most watched K-drama in its time slot.
'Connection' Episode 8: Will Ji Sung Find Out the True Killer?
The beginning of the episode continues with Jang Jae Kyung's interrogation of his former classmate, Jung Sang Eui, who also works with KH Pharmaceutical Company, where Park Jun Seo was also working.
At this point, he doesn't believe that Jung Sang Eui and the rest of the company were innocent of the incident.
However, Jung Sang Eui thinks that Jun Seo didn't commit suicide but was killed by someone.
According to him, the moment they saw his lifeless body, he noticed that he was still wearing his shoes, which contradicts the crime scene that the police found the next day.
This made Jang Jae Kyung speculate that there was foul play.
As Jae Kyung digs deep, he discovers through Min Hyun Woo, who was the delivery rider of Jun Seo, that he was asked to transport the drugs at the Lorraine Hotel while the rest is at Woojong Medical Center.
Here, Jae Kyung, Oh Yoon Jin, and Heo Joo Song figured out that it might be connected to the medical malpractice that Yoon Jin is looking into.
In a flashback, Joon Seo found out that Hyun Woo accidentally delivered all the drugs at Woojong Medical Center, which included the lemon mulberry, which is an illegal type of drug.
He learned that all the medicines were prescribed to the patients.
On the other hand, Jang Jae Hyuk managed to capture the CCTV in the neighborhood that might include clues regarding the deaths of Jun Seo and the store owner.
Lo and behold, he found the taxi that the previous witness referred to.
It turned out that Jung Yoon Ho was behind it, but at this point, Jae Hyuk needs to find the identity of the mysterious person.
