Kwon Yool dished out on his closeness with Ha Jung Woo, and how he helped him before starting in the industry.
In an episode of SBS' variety show "My Little Old Boy," the "Connection" star shared an endearing story about the award-winning actor whom he knew since he was in college.
Before becoming an actor, Kwon Yool studied Bachelor of Arts in Theater at Chung-Ang University. After college, he made his acting debut in a theater play called "Carmen" and had his first on-screen appearance in the 2007 youth comedy series "Mackerel Run" with Lee Min Ho and Moon Chae Won.
Now, he is among the K-drama stars who could pull-off a variety of roles, may it be protagonist or villain.
Interestingly, Kwon Yool had his fair share of struggles before his debut.
Kwon Yool Says Ha Jung Woo Was Much 'Stricter' than His Parents
In "My Little Old Boy," Kwon Yool tells hosts about his connection with Ha Jung Woo and how thankful he is to him.
According to him, he used to live with the veteran actor during college.
As mentioned by an outlet, the travel from his home to school was so challenging that Ha Jung Woo offered to take him with him.
"I was commuting to school because the campus was a remote area, but my senior told me I had to live here to enjoy school, so we lived together."
Dishing on his experience with fellow actor Kwon Yool, he revealed what it's like to live with Ha Jung Woo.
According to him, he is much "stricter" than his parents, especially with curfew hours.
"My senior, Ha Jung Woo, told me to come home before 10 p.m., so it was stricter than when I lived with my parents."
"My Little Old Boy" host Shin Dong Yeop teased the actor and tried to defend the veteran star.
"From Ha Jung Woo's point of view, Kwon Yul was alone with the girls. I was annoyed because I was playing with him," he said, causing laughter among the audience.
Interestingly, one thing that he is proud of is his cleanliness at home. He also revealed that he puts a vacuum cleaner in every room and has a total of six throughout the whole household.
As for his own home, Kwon Yool said that he likes to host gatherings at home, but it feels like the guests are uncomfortable around his house.
"I tend to invite people, but they feel burdened because they don't think they should leave fingerprints."
Kwon Yool on Playing Mysterious Prosecutor in 'Connection'
The 41-year-old actor is currently starring in the action crime K-drama "Connection" with Ji Sung and Jeon Mi Do.
He takes on the role of Park Tae Jin, a prosecutor at the Anhyun District Prosecutors' Office who is also the trusted legal aide of Won Jong Soo (Kim Kyung Nam), the vice president of Keumhyung Pharmaceuticals.
As the interview with "My Little Old Boy" continues, the actor also mentions his love for courtroom dramas and the reason why he loves his character on "Connection."
"I end up saying things like arrest warrant and substantive prosecutor a lot," he said, referring to prosecutor Park Tae Jin.
Other than "Connection," he is also known as the villain in the hit K-drama "Voice" with Lee Ha Na.
