Kim Tae Ri looked back on her previous work and recalled her experience filming the hit K-drama "Twenty Five Twenty One."
Debuted in 2022, it is a coming-of-age drama that showcases the romance between the main characters, Na Hee Do (Kim Tae Ri) and Baek Yi Jin (Nam Joo Hyuk).
"Twenty Five Twenty One" created a huge buzz both locally and internationally.
In addition to the double-digit ratings, the series also landed multiple awards in various ceremonies.
Kim Tae Ri bagged the Best Actress award for her role as Na Hee Doo in "Twenty Five, Twenty One" as well as the Popularity Award with Lee Junho at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards.
Kim Tae Ri Reveals Biggest Regret About 'Twenty Five Twenty One'
In an interview, Kim Tae Ri confessed her only regret about "Twenty Five Twenty One."
She said she could have given the character Na Hee Do more "dynamics" and effort.
Kim Tae Ri's regret stemmed from ""Twenty Five Twenty One's" huge popularity, making it among the most watched K-dramas in 2022.
"I feel like I could have done more with the character. I didn't know that viewers would love Hee Do this much. If I had known that viewers see her as so cute and lovely, I would've tried to make the character more dynamic. But I didn't have enough courage."
Despite this, viewers still fell in love with Kim Tae Ri's character and how she perfectly played the role as a fencing prodigy.
On the other hand, Kim Tae Ri expressed her satisfaction with being able to play and pull off the character. According to her, she didn't feel "any pressure" on how she portrayed the character.
The actress also added that Na Hee Do's free-spirited attitude was a role new to her and that it was a fun experience.
Kim Tae Ri Returns With 'Jeong Nyeon'
Following her occult-mystery K-drama "Revenant," Kim Tae Ri is making a small screen comeback through the historical "Jeong Nyeon."
Along with a roster of talented cast, the actress takes on the titular role, Yoon Jeong Nyeon, a girl from Mokpo who grew up in poverty.
Despite this and without education, she dreams of being a performer and utilizing her amazing singing skills. Yoon Jeong Nyeon tries her luck and joins the women's traditional theater company.
Joining Kim Tae Ri in the upcoming K-drama are Shin Ye Eun, Ra Mi Ran, and Moon So Ri as lead stars.
Based on the webtoon, "Jeong Nyeon" is helmed by Lee Jung Rim and Kim Jae Hong of "Revenant," along with renowned screenwriter Kim Eun Hee, who penned "Kingdom," "Jirisan," and "Signal."
