Turning 90 years old this year, veteran actor Lee Soon Jae is still diligent and strong in fulfilling his acting career.

On June 30, the "High Kick" actor made his appearance on JTBC's "Newsroom" where he shared his acting philosophy and past work experiences.

As he ages, Lee Soon Jae is humbled to experience longevity in life and his career because he maintains his health. According to him, there was no assumption that he'd be acting at this age. His chosen profession is like that.

"Even if we're exhausted, we stand up when we get to the set. It's the nature of the job."

Lee Soon Jae, who delivered a touching performance at the prestigious Baeksang Arts Awards, shared:

"I had cataract surgery, so my vision was poor. Being on stage, there might have been some sympathy for an old actor.

Yoo Yeon Seok and I have a teacher-student relationship, and I think it was that bond that made me emotional."

During his speech at that time, the veteran star remarked that he was just an actor who worked hard. He humbly stated that he was not a standout actor, and just had to work with determination.

In addition, he said that the nature of creation means that there are great artists at the moment, and it is not the end of the field.

"I see the realm of artistic creation as infinite, without the perfection of end. Acting is the same. Everyone has their own artistic quality in acting."

Currently, Lee Soon Jae has begun the play, "Who Doesn't Know This Person."

"I hope people understand the importance of liberal democracy. Having experienced the Korean War, it's an eternal tragedy in our nation's history."

When talking about the younger generation of actors, Lee Soon Jae commented:

"There are some who do it properly and some who do it half-heartedly. Many can't sustain their careers. They become obsessed with their initial success, clinging to it.

Instead, they need to transform and try new roles. When seniors set an example, the juniors follow. So, the seniors need to do well too."

Lee Soon Jae has already spent his years in acting and worked with the biggest stars from his generation to some of the modern actors today.

He has a long list of projects that vary from dramas to movies, many of which were acclaimed: "Little Bride," "The Great Queen Seondeok," "Coffee House," "My Princess," "The King 2 Hearts," "Money Flower," "Again My Life," and more.
