IN THE LOOP: ‘Red Swan,’ ‘The Auditors,’ More New K-dramas Airing This 1st Week of July

Another month means another set of thrilling and entertaining K-dramas that will definitely keep viewers hooked on every episode.

From sequels and webtoon-based series down to original K-dramas, broadcast networks and OTT platforms are set to deliver a round of exciting new K-dramas this July.

Interestingly, there are two new K-dramas airing this first week of July. Furthermore, there are also current series that you might be interested in and add to the young binge watch list.

New K-drama: 'Red Swan'

Returning to the small screen is RAIN with the action romance K-drama "Red Swan."

Joined by Kim Ha Neul, the drama focuses on the story between bodyguard Seo Do Yun (RAIN) whose mission is to protect former world-class golfer Oh Wan Soo (Kim Ha Neul.)

Apart from her status in the sports industry, she also married into a chaebol family with dark secrets.

Meanwhile, behind Do Yun's work as a bodyguard, he worked for the company, Hwain Group, to uncover the mystery behind his friend's death.

In an interview, Rain revealed the preparations he made, especially for the scenes that required physical strength.

"For action scenes, you alternate with a stunt double, and there are various challenges, but Jung has practically mastered it, so viewers can look forward to great results."

Directed by Park Hong Kyu of "Queen Seondeok" and "The Greatest Love," the 10-part series is slated to premiere on July 3 exclusively on Disney+.

New K-drama: 'The Auditors'

Another new K-drama that will be premiering this first week of July is "The Auditors."

Centering around the company, JU Construction's Shin Cha Il, played by Shin Ha Kyun, joined as the audit team's new leader.

However, he discovered that corruption runs rampant in their department. He will use his cool yet sharp demeanor to carry out his work as the team leader.

Interestingly, joining his department is the rookie auditor, Gu Han Soo, portrayed by Lee Jung Ha.

The duo will be teaming up to unravel the corruption at JU Construction.

Joining "The Auditors" as lead stars are Jin Goo and Jo A Ram under the direction of Kwon Young Il, the man behind "Doom at Your Service" and "Wedding Impossible."

Meanwhile, viewers will get to watch Shin Ha Kyun and Lee Jung Ha's new drama on July 6 through TVN, TVING, and Viki.

Currently Airing: 'Miss Night and Day'

If you are up for comedy, romance, and fantasy, chances are you will enjoy watching "Miss Night and Day."

Headlined by Jung Eun Ji, Lee Jung Eun, and Choi Jin Hyuk, the series focuses on a 20-ish woman who mysteriously transforms into a 50-year-old ajumma by day and returns to her old self every night.

The APINK member takes on the character of Lee Mi Jin, who struggled to find a decent job in the workforce, while veteran actress Lee Jung Eun portrays Jung Eun Ji's alter ego, Lim Sun, a 50-year-old woman who managed to land a secretary job at prosecutor Gye Ji Young's office, played by Choi Jin Hyuk.

Airing every Saturday and Sunday, "Miss Night and Day" can be streamed through Netflix and JTBC.
