Actor Jo Jung Suk has revealed a personal and transformative journey while preparing for his role in the upcoming comedy film "Pilot."

The film centers around Han Jeong-woo, a pilot who navigates comedic mishaps after using his sister's identity to secure a job.

During a recent press conference, Jo Jung Suk shared insights into his portrayal of the character Han Jeong-mi, a female pilot.

The actor underwent a remarkable physical transformation, shedding 7 kg and utilizing acupressure and massages to refine his jawline and figure.

These efforts were crucial in bringing authenticity to his comedic role.

Reflecting on his experience, Jo Jung Suk humorously remarked, "The process involved three stages: first the clothes, then the makeup, and finally the wig."

He further elaborated on moments where he genuinely felt beautiful while dressed as Jeong-mi, particularly recalling an instance with wet hair that left him pleasantly surprised.

Director Kim Han-gyeol praised Jo Jung Suk's dedication, noting, "With Jo Jung Suk onboard, I knew we had a strong ally who could breathe life into the character."

The actor's previous experience in roles such as portraying a transgender character in the musical "Hedwig" underscored his versatility and commitment to diverse roles.

"My portrayal isn't about mockery but enhancing the comedic elements of the story. Audiences will see the sincerity in our approach when they watch 'Pilot'."
