Koo Kyo Hwan Reveals Song Kang's Appearance in 'Escape' Was His Idea

In line with the promotion of their new movie "Escape," Lee Je Hoon and Koo Kyo Hwan made their guest appearance in the YouTube variety show "Salon Drip 2."

The two collaborated for the first time in an action movie "Escape," which follows the story of the other side of the barbed-wire fence at the Demilitarized Zone and features the fierce escape and pursuit of North Korean soldier Gyu Nam (Lee Je Hoon), who dreams of living a life with a future, and a security team office Hyun Sang (Koo Kyo Hwan).

Amid the conversation with the program's host Jang Do Yeon, Lee Je Hoon mentioned K-heartthrob Song Kang. He shared an interesting fact that the young star is making a special appearance in their film.

Koo Kyo Hwan praised Song Kang:

 "He is a really attractive person. He was incredibly charming when I saw him in a private setting."

He went on by giving chops of Song Kang's role in their movie.

"He plays a character with a crucial relationship to ours. Before filming, I thought hard about who could create a million stories with just a short appearance, and Song Kang came to mind."

Koo Kyo Hwan revealed that he did his best to have Song Kang join the movie, and was happy when he agreed.

Apart from him, Lee Je Hoon was also starstruck by Song Kang's presence. He shared his previous encounter with the "Sweet Home" star.

 "I happened to see Song Kang at a private gathering by chance and found him very charming. He is even better-looking in person with a great personality."

He went on and even called the heartthrob someone who came straight out of a comic book.

"I realized this is when you use the term 'manjjitnam'."

This is not the first time that Song Kang was praised for his strong features and good character. Some celebrities whom he met and worked with also recognized his personality and acting.

Meanwhile, "Escape" finally hit the cinemas last July 3.

Meanwhile, Song Kang's hit Netflix series "Sweet Home" Season 3 is slated to premiere on July 19.
